What color should I paint my living room walls?

My couch is navy blue, my carpet is light blue, my entertainment unit and coffee table, end tables are oak. What color should I paint my living room walls?
Blue is a great choice. It is very in fashion this summer. But the beauty of blue is it is always popular. It's not one of those colours that is ever so last year!

All shades of blue are in at the moment. Check out the article on

Find a large rug to put under your coffee table (in front of your couch). That has the main color of tan or oatmeal. Also has a variety of other colors, including dark and light blue to match your couch and carpeting. Paint your walls the tan or oatmeal color to match the rug. Also buy some pillows for the couch to match the walls. Find a third color in the large rug to use as an accent color to tie everything together and so the entire room isn't just blue and tan.
You have blue in your room but did not mention the color on your windows. I would take and find a color near the color of the oak tables if they are light oak. This will keep your room bright. I would look at tans, creams, etc. Too much of one color makes it boring and dark. Do you have any pictures or paintings on the walls. look at the colors in them and find a color to use. Giving the wall a neutral color will bring the room together.
Find some accent pillows that work with your couch and carpet and choose another shade from those for the walls. I think a light mocha or a gray would work well or maybe a sage or celery green, but see if anything here inspires you:

Paint it either white or a paler blue than the carpet, almost white.

Either way paint the roof white. That will look classy and make the room look larger.

If possible make your doors the same color as the oak tables but if they are darker then put some objects on the table to match the color of the door and window sills.
black or dark red go. don't say no to dark colors they loook amazing.
