I have a bathroom and I have lots of red it in and we are painting it a khaki color...It's like a camel color. I would do a rich khaki and then have lighter accents (like white shelves, trim, and window coverings). If you do black accents you are going to feel a bit more closed in. It's ok in a large room where you want it to be cozy but if you are working with a smaller room, you want lighter accents to make it feel more open and inviting. What color would you suggest painting living room walls if I have a bright red L-shaped corner couch and chair
Do you have art work in the room that you really like? Pick a color from it.
Do you have any accent pillows on the couch? Pick a color from those.
If you have any accessories in the room, you could pick a color from one of those. What color would you suggest painting living room walls if I have a bright red L-shaped corner couch and chair
Khaki and red would look good together especially with black accent pieces, or blue.
If you want your sofa to be the center piece of your living room, definitely your walls should create a big contrasting effect yet complimentary to it. The best color is actually just plain white (or cream or beige close to white) with light grey accents (on mouldings and baseboards). If you choose cream or beige for walls, then your mouldings and baseboards should be just white. Put a lighting fixture with black supports and not silver or gold. Compliment it with black or dark chocolate brown side tables and coffee table. The best colors to blend with red are white, beige or cream, dark brown and black. Use this color scheme when buying additional furnishings around your sofa.
If you like bold colors, and it sounds like you do, you could paint the walls a shade of yellow. The other choice would be a shade of blue. These two colors are across the color wheel and compliment red nicely! Enjoy!
