Painting walls different colors.....?

i am going to paint my walls beige and a light sage like color. i have a rectangular room, with a sliding glass door on one of the long sides. i often rearrange my bed, so should i paint 2 touching walls sage and the other two beige? or should i paint only the long sides sage..? any suggestions?

i don't want to paint my white wall border...thingsPainting walls different colors.....?
Think about it. If dark = far away look, smaller (sage) and light colors = close up, illusion of bigger (beige). I would take the biggest part make it the light color and take the smaller areas and make them the darkest color, they should cancel eachother out.Painting walls different colors.....?
Umm, I wouldn't really mix the beige walls with the sage, although I love the color sage, It is very relaxing and neutral. Although If you do decide to do an accent wall, if you paint 2 walls the same color and the other to walls the same color, it will be a bit unbalanced, although painting just 1 accent wall and leaving 3 the same color it will feel a bit more balanced. If you go with the light sage I would go with white accent colors to make the room seem a bit more airy also lighting is key, It really sets the mood in the room, try using 3 types of lighting, general, task, and accent. And don't be afraid to use that door as an advantage, I love natural lighting, anyway i hope I helped...good luck!
I wouldn't do beige and sage -- too close together in shading, and the colors would fight each other and look dirty and make the room look unfinished. Also definitely don't alternate walls.

Personally, I'd keep all the walls the same color, especially if it's a smaller room, and if you tend to rearrange the furniture and move the focal point (the bed) a lot.

If you are settled on an arrangement though, and want to keep the bed on one wall, that is the wall you would paint a contrasting color -- something bold and rich -- like for example, against all other soft white walls or a neutral beige, you paint one wall a cranberry red or a navy blue or a turquoise -- and make that wall the focal wall of the room -- with the bed, the headboard, and how you decorate the wall. Then using that backdrop color repeated in accent/accessories throughout the room.
IF you are going to paint a wall as an accent color, be careful that it doesn't look as if you ran out of paint and had to choose a different bucket! Personally, I would go with all one color, (I love sage, but that is another story) and too many tans look like washed out or discolored white...be careful to choose a stonger tan rather than a weaker tan....off white is not in today's market, although I see the industry heading back to whites and off whites (ug!). IF you really like that tan, perhaps a stronger sage as an accent wall...yes, I know, so 20 years ago, but consider that what goes round comes round...be the first to start a trend! (again). good luck and have fun. Goldwing
Definitely paint adjacent walls the same color. If you alternate, it may look like a circus tent!
