Please help with what color to paint!?

We need help here. The livingroom and kitchen are kind of ';tied' together, meaning there is no real ';cut-off'; point/no wall between. In between the livingroom and the kitchen is a hallway with closets. Now what do we do? Do we choose one paint for the entire area? Or one paint for the livingroom and another for the kitchen and the hallway? Or should we do 3 colors for, one for each area even though there is no ';cut-off'; like I mentioned. What would look best? And do we leave the closet doors white? We're striving for an fancy/elegant/chic look. Please advise with what to do and some color options. Thank you so much! Please help with what color to paint!?
play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to help you imagine how the colors will look together. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family %26amp; color name, the ';painted'; rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

If the LR %26amp; Kitchen share a common wall, then paint that wall one color. Let's use ';tansy green'; (# 6424) as an example. Then pick a color for the LR %26amp; kitchen that coordinate with that color -- like ';blue cruise'; (# 7606) for the LR %26amp; ';overjoy'; (# 6689) for the kitchen. It would look very dramatic %26amp; cool.

You can take a photo of your house %26amp; upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions %26amp; for $5 they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.

Check out how they used multiple colors in these open floor plans for ideas:

I know what looks really elegant. Paint the walls all Harvest Brown (Behr paint -Home Dept) .

Definitely leave the doors creamy white. Great color is (Half %26amp; half - Benjamin Moore paint). Sherwin Williams can duplicate it. Also paint the living room and hall these colors and maybe another color for your kitchen - Sherwin Williams-(Golden Fleece) is beautiful. It blens with the Harvest Brown.
This might help you understand what you might want to accomplish

also i have a tip that might help with paint.

Ask your local hadware store or paint store sometimes they make what's called MISTINTS these are paints they made for a customer who rejected the paint for some reason and now they have to sell them so they sell them at a lower price and sometimes you might find a color you would like.
I would paint it all the same color. That way your gorgeous home doesn't start looking like a clown's house :-)

I would go with maybe tan walls and white trim, then with white doors...very elegant and easy to paint over if you ever want to go darker or lighter in the future! Good luck and I hope this helped!
Since your rooms flow together, and you want a classic look, you should use the same colour for them all. You will want the colour to flow as your rooms do..breaking up the rooms with different colours will look choppy. I would suggest you leave the doors and trim the same colour...personally I prefer off white, but if you like white, then use that. As for colour options, that is a hard one as you do not say the colour/type of flooring you have...pick a colour you like and will blend well with your furniture and kitchen cupboards/countertop. Ok...since your flooring and cupboards are dark you can paint just about any soft colour throughout..you can go more dramatic, but if you are painting these main areas, you might get tired of this quickly, so a softer colour with bright/darker accents in your accessories is usually a better idea...beige, greens (softer, or lighter hues), soft blues, lavenders, aquas pretty much any colour you like will look great.
