What is a good color to paint a living room when selling a house?

We have original wood molding and trim (looks like mahogany, has a reddish tint to the wood.)

Also, our bedroom is painted white and ';October Red'; (a deep, fall red.) Is this too bold? We installed board and batten on the lower half of the wall (it's kind of like wainscoting) so the only part that is red is about 3-4 feet on the upper part of the wall. I've included a pic. I really didn't want to paint but want opinions on whether I should. I don't want to turn buyers off! I'm also including a pic of our living room, if anyone has any staging suggestions!

I think ur bedroom is just fine, even with the red. The only thing u might want to add is live plants, not a whole slew of them, just 2 in living room on the little stool, something that will cascade over. living room walls are fine. Best of luck to ya. Oh and when you have to show the house good smell s in there are perfect, baking cookies. What is a good color to paint a living room when selling a house?
I think both rooms look beautiful and wouldn't turn anyone off. The bedroom has enough white and light in it to offset the red, which looks great. The living room is beautiful too, but I think it looks a little cluttered under the window with too many small pieces. The chair and one table is enough.
I agree with Dawn B that the bed is too big for the room, maybe if you could just remove the footboard. I also would change out the window treatments to drapes, but I love the red color, I don't think it is too much.
Always go with neutral colors when selling, pack up your pictures and personal things, get rid of unnecessary furniture, makes room look larger. Try and stay away from flower patterns. Men just don't see it.
Beige or any neutral color. The new owners will want their own colors
IYou need to change out the red as it closes your room down. Space is what buyers are looking for and the red doesn't open the room enough. Your bed is nicely appointed but too large for the room. I would put it in storage and get a smaller headboard and frame. While your draperies probably wouldn't bother most I would still take them down and instead add a ceiling to floor flowing drapery that would make the room more airy. Your linens are simple and elegant. No need for change there. In your living room I would get rid of the chair in the corner, the table under the air conditioner and the stool and basket next to it. I would use a larger rug under the sectional and put in a nice cocktail table or ottoman that might show a dual purpose in front of the sectional. It's a small photo so I can't see what else is in the room but I would make sure that it shows uncluttered and as large as it can.
