What is a good color to paint my dining room?

My dining room has wood floors ans a large table that seats 12 people. I don't know what color to paint the room. My kitchen connects to it but is separate. Therefore, I don't have to worry about clashing too much but don't want a color to not go at all. I was thinking of standish white by benjamin moore for my dining room. Does this seem like a nice color for a dining room? I don't want anything too dark that will make the room look smaller. My kitchen is a light pink with cherry cabinets and a black marble countertop. Will that be too much clash even though the rooms are separated? Also what color curtains would look good with standish white since I have two large windows in my dining room? What is a good color to paint my dining room?
Most programs that I watch on HGTV say to paint it a beige or light sand color--so I would think you are on the right track. :)))

For your dining room curtains, I would try to find a color to connect and merry the two rooms. Sounds harsh but maybe a reddish window treatment. Good for the appetite, so the pros say! What is a good color to paint my dining room?
The same colour as Turkey dinner with all the trimmings, Covered in Gravy....Now doesn't that sound appetising?...:-)

Now on a serious note.....I have found that a dining room usually looks good a light pale peach with a Bright white ceiling....Of course it depends on the colour scheme of the rest of Your home Carpets Ect.(If applicable) :-)
