Best color combinations for painting a room?

I'm trying to decide what 2 colors to paint my room. I need it to look homie-ish (not too exotic or flashy-somewhat like a hotel). Any suggestions?Best color combinations for painting a room?

Please dont be afraid of color, paint is inexpensive and if you do it yourself you can always modify it to suit you if necessary. I like that you are thinking about how you want the room to feel, color is very intuitive and emotional for people. I would expand on that feeling a little, homie ish

could mean like the home you grew up in. Think about how you want to live in the room, how you want people to feel when they first enter the room Think about places in nature that make you feel inspired and consider the natural colors outside the windows of the room. Get some magazines like southern accents, or veranda, or anything that looks like homeish to you and start tearing out pictures. Ivory trim is always nice and you can add whatever wall color feels right to you. Use a semi gloss trim paint, and a Matte or Eggshell finish for the walls, and you are home sweet home-ish!
play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to help you imagine how the colors will look together. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family %26amp; color name, the ';painted'; rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think ';chamois'; (# 6131) %26amp; ';portico'; (# 7548) might be a great choice.

You can take a photo of your house %26amp; upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions %26amp; for $5 they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.
Neutral colours are the best, such as cream, white, sage green etc.

Also pastel colours are very soft and homely, so something like a light blue or lilac would work well.
Blue and Pink
